Here's How to Fix It
Begin the change. Words are worth nothing if you fail to solve the problem. Make the organizational changes that will (hopefully) prevent a future problem. These may be as simple as making a sincere apology or making policy changes... or as complex as removing personnel or products. The more action you show, the more positive reaction you will get from everyone - including the media.
